The Choose Gang Free program improves community wellness by empowering at-risk and gang-involved youth through education, family support, and the promotion of pro-social behaviors grounded in choice, self-discipline, and purpose.
In a unique and collaborative partnership, Choose Gang Free Case Managers are employed by Salt Lake County and work in close coordination with the School Districts in Salt Lake County, Juvenile Justice Youth Services, Juvenile Probation, DCFS, and a network of community-based agencies serving at-risk and gang-involved youth. This interagency approach enables comprehensive support that bridges education, justice, and social service systems, ensuring that youth receive consistent guidance and access to the resources necessary for long-term success and community safety.

Choose Gang Free follows the “What Works Principles” and Best Practices of OJJDP and uses an evidence-based curriculum, to include case management and after care services to at-risk and gang involved youth.
Choose Gang Free is owned by the Salt Lake Area Gang Project and has full license and copyrights to the program and program materials.
