Fireworks and Fire Danger

This summer is proving to be a uniquely dangerous wildfire season. Fires are spreading faster and burning hotter than ever — and fireworks are one of the leading causes. Protecting our communities is a shared responsibility.

Utah law allows fireworks only during specific windows. If you live in a restricted area, fireworks are never allowed — even during those dates.

Know the rules where you live.

Similarly, we are under Stage 2 Fire restrictions which means no open flames of any kind are allowed on federal, state, or unincorporated land. Each city in Salt Lake County sets its own restrictions.

Check the map below or contact your local city for details.

More than half of Utah's wildfires are caused by people. Following the rules and using fireworks responsibly protects lives, homes, and the open spaces we all share.
