Public Notice Upcoming Items

Prior to the adoption of Salt Lake County's 2026 Budget, a public hearing will be held. 

WHEN: December 9, 6:00 pm

WHERE: Salt Lake County Council Chambers in the County Government Center, 2001 South State Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Salt Lake County is proposing to increase its property tax revenue. The Salt Lake County tax on a $638,000 residence would increase from $445.64 to $533.02, which is $87.38 per year. The Salt Lake County tax on a $638,000 business would increase from $810.26 to $969.12, which is $158.86 per year. If the proposed budget is approved, Salt Lake County would receive an additional $48,900,000 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, Salt Lake County would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 19.63% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.

Salt Lake County invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or online.
