Research

Salt Lake County Economic Development periodically issues research on the region’s economic landscape, including findings related to redevelopment, growth, quality of life, and strategic planning. We use data-driven insight to guide policy discussions about Tax Increment Financing (TIF), workforce development, and regional conversations about growth.

Advancing Economic Development in Salt Lake County

The foundational research for “A New Perspective for Prosperity” came from a county engagement with site-selection consultant Global Location Strategies (GLS).

This two-phase engagement 1) identified the County’s value proposition and best industry clusters to target for strategic recruitment, and then 2) compared the County against peer regions nationwide so we can compete better for these high-value industries.
