Advancing Economic Development in Salt Lake County

The foundational research for “A New Perspective for Prosperity” came from a county engagement with site-selection consultant Global Location Strategies (GLS).

This two-phase engagement 1) identified the County’s value proposition and best industry clusters to target for strategic recruitment, and then 2) compared the County against peer regions nationwide so we can compete better for these high-value industries.

Phase 1: Identifying Salt Lake County’s Competitive Advantage

This research analyzed Salt Lake County’s economic conditions and identified our best target industries to understand our region’s value proposition for investment attraction.

Phase 2: Benchmarking Salt Lake County’s Position for Industry Growth

This research compared Salt Lake County against national peers to identify how we could better compete for the target industries identified in Phase 1.
