Cool Zones
Salt Lake County's Cool Zones are public buildings where you can temporarily cool off and learn about available services.
Each building’s hours, holiday closures, code of conduct, and eligibility restrictions still apply. Salt Lake County Senior Centers are open to everyone over the age of 60. All Salt Lake County youth ages 0-18 have free access to Salt Lake County recreation centers, which is a great way to keep your family cool. Learn more at the link below.
Please note: Most locations are closed on Sundays. However, the Salt Lake City Main Library is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Geraldine E. King Women’s Resource Center, Midvale Family Resource Center, SLC Gail Miller Resource Center, and South Salt Lake Pamela Atkinson Resource Center remain open 24/7.
Most facilities will be closed on July 4 and July 24, so we encourage anyone in need to go to the Geraldine E. King Women’s Resource Center, Midvale Family Resource Center, SLC Gail Miller Resource Center, or the South Salt Lake Pamela Atkinson Resource Center, which will remain open.
Water Donations
If you wish to donate bottled water you can bring donations any day of the week between 8am and 7pm to the Pamela Atkinson Resource Center and the Gail Miller Resource Center. You may also donate to the Midvale Family Resource Center by appointment.
